After being gone for almost 2-years Idella returned home to Independent on Thursday September 3rd, she has been completely rebuilt by Andy Swift from Firefly Restorations of Hope, Maine. Idella is an 1885 Button Steam Engine that was the first Engine of the Independent Steam Fire Company, No. 1

2008 Road Rescue on an International 4100 Series Chassis
Good Bye to an Old Friend !!!
On December 18th, 2008 at 19:30 hrs. Independent's new 2008 Pierce Velocity HDR was placed in service, with this addition our 1991 Pierce Rescue ran its official last call and was taken out of service.
